"Yağmur is brilliant at what she does. After an initial discussion about my film production company and what I hoped to achieve with its branding, Yağmur delivered exciting options for consideration. She brought a mix of creativity and clarity to our conversations which made the whole design process effortless. Yağmur is organised, prompt and has a passion for design that is a joy to interact with. I would absolutely work with her again."
Rebecca Hickey, Founder of Arna Pictures Ltd.

Crafting a living brand: from a static page to the cinematic screen.
I developed a bespoke visual identity that bridges the gap between the golden age of cinema and the digital-first era. By pairing classic typographic sensibilities with a minimalist, contemporary aesthetic, I created a brand that feels both retro and modern.
Recognising that a production company’s identity truly lives in motion, the project extended beyond the static mark. I choreographed the motion graphics and logo animation to serve as a bridge, ensuring the brand’s core values remain intact whether it’s sitting on a business card or flickering to life in the opening credits of a feature film.

What does the client want?
To design a bold, modern identity for a boutique Dublin production house. As a female owned small business, the goal was to create a brand that felt established, creative, and colourful. The client also asked for an animation to be played in opening credits of their movies.

Design Process
Transforming complex constraints into cohesive design solutions.
What would working with me look like? From my academic background I learned to not only design a product but also the process that leads to the product. Bridging conceptual depth with functional clarity through a disciplined, I propose a four-step design lifecycle.
(01)
Collaborative Discovery & Moodboarding
The project began with a co-creative phase to align our visual vocabulary. We developed a shared moodboard to explore the "cinematic atmosphere" Arna Pictures wanted to project. This collaborative foundation ensured that the subsequent design iterations were rooted in the client’s core values and aesthetic aspirations.
(02)
Iterative Conceptualization
I developed three distinct stylistic directions, providing a range of visual narratives for the brand. To ensure versatility across all mediums—from digital screens to print—each concept was presented in both full color and high-contrast black and white. This allowed us to evaluate the structural integrity of the typography and icons before final color application.

The Aesthetic Choice: "Contemporary Retro"
The selected direction leans into a "retro" aesthetic, utilizing a typography-led approach and a colour palette that evokes the timelessness of classic cinema. The goal was to create an identity that feels established and storied, yet sharp enough for the modern digital landscape.

Inclusive & Accessible Design
As a core part of my workflow, the visual identity was put through rigorous accessibility testing. I optimised the colour palette to ensure high legibility for various types of colour blindness. By prioritizing inclusive design, we ensured that Arna Pictures' brand remains accessible and impactful for every viewer, regardless of how they perceive colour.
